Why composite infill?

The look of ironwork, the privacy of a solid gate

  • No upkeep

Never needs staining or painting. A wipe down now and then keeps it looking new.

  • Built to last

Won't rot, warp or split, on a galvanised steel frame that won't rust.

  • Private and secure

Solid boards stop people seeing in, in a frame welded by hand.

  • Lock included

A built-in lock, keys and handle come as standard. A keypad lock is an extra.

Composite gates in Shevington: your questions

Can't see your question? Just ask us.

How much do composite gates cost?

It depends on the width of your opening, single or double gates, and the colours and extras you choose. Our online gate designer gives you an instant estimate, and after a free measure in Shevington we give you a fixed price. Fitting is included.

How long do composite gates last?

A long time. The composite boards won't rot, warp or split, and the steel frame is galvanised before it's powder coated so it won't rust. With an occasional wipe down they keep looking new for many years.

Do composite gates need any maintenance?

Very little. Unlike timber they never need staining, painting or treating. Wash them with soapy water now and then, and keep the hinges and lock moving.

How tall can my gates be? Do I need planning permission?

Usually you can have gates up to 1 metre high next to a road, or up to 2 metres elsewhere, without planning permission. Listed buildings and conservation areas have their own rules. We'll talk it through when we measure up.

How long does it take?

Typical lead time is around 12 weeks from order to fitting. We'll confirm the date when you order.

Do the gates come with a lock?

Yes. Every composite gate comes with a built-in lock, keys and a handle as standard. A keypad lock is available as an extra.

Do you fit composite gates in Shevington?

Yes. We're a family workshop in Wigan and fit gates across Shevington and the surrounding area. The measure and quote are free.
